- FY 2007 Budget Recommendations & Report
- According to Horton City Code 1-310(d) (2001 Edition), the City Administrator is "[t]o act as budget officer and as such to prepare and recommend to the governing body, prior to the beginning of each fiscal year, a budget for the ensuing fiscal year, showing in as much detail as practicable, the estimated amounts of revenues and expenditures for the efficient operation of the city government." Budgets included in the report are the General Operations (G.O.) fund, which is supported by the use of your tax dollars, Electric Fund, Water Fund, and Sewer Fund. While there are other funds that the City of Horton manages, these funds constitute 99.1 percent of all City funds.
- Fiscal Year 2007 Budget Certification
- The FY 2007 budget was approved and certified at the regularly scheduled Horton City Commission on Monday, August 21, 2006, with publication being duly made in accordance with the Kansas Budget Act, found generally at Kansas Statute 79-2925 et seq. Tax levies that are approved by a vote of the electors are not subject to the Kansas Budget Act. Washington Township v. Hart, 168 Kan. 330, 331.
